5 July 2004 S-Pol coordinates: latitude = 23 deg, 55.7382' N longitude = 106 deg 57.1273' W altitude = 21 m MSL (?) don't believe GPS Azimuth and Range to NOAA Profiles 331 deg, 44.7 km range (relative to S-Pol) x = -21.6 km, y = 39.1 km lat = 24 deg 16.826' N lon = 107 deg 09.611' W elevation = 27 m MSL 2027 Started ClimoFar with RHI on a cel near 350 deg, 40 km range Testing out data collection and computer/real time stuff Storm has up to 50 dBZ - spread out between 330-30 deg Az 2038 RHIs shaking antenna. Switching to MicroFar90. Blockage is not bad @ low angles, still lots of mountain clutter. 2041 Main activity near 13 deg, 50 km range. Just over 50 dBZ in a short SW-NE line 2046 Nearly 60 dBZ in storm aloft. 2053 Sequence completed in almost exactly 90 minutes 2056 Running general surveillance to see how how clutter from mountains goes. edited ClimoFar to do so. Clutter Filter should stay on, works to 120km Significant block @ 30 deg, almost dead, center 21-39 deg approx 27km blocking clutter with clutter filter on echoes are pretty clear by 3.5deg, actually not bad by 2.5deg (block disappears between 1.5 & 2.5deg, mostly gone by 2.0deg) 2114 60 dBZ in cells to N Another block from 55-63deg (gone by 1.5deg) Also a small one near 74deg (gone by 1deg) Another small block @ 104deg gone by 1deg 2132 Flare echo@ 60 deg in cell near 75 km & 355 deg Running a PPI on this storm. Also looks like flare on cell@20deg, 58 km 2144 Block near 0-8deg, 40 km range? Tough to tell. Don't think so, running general surveillance again 2200 Bugged out for the day
