-        Research interests include monsoon precipitation, polarimetric radar, and more specifically, application of radar for investigation of precipitation processes


Student Volunteer (January - June 2008)

National Weather Service, Cheyenne, WY

-        Spent 4 hours a week at the National Weather Service for 6 months

-        Job shadowed forecasters during their regular shift duties and became familiar with tools used in the NWS (e.g., AWIPS, GFE)

-        Used the Weather Event Simulator (WES) with the assistance of the SOO to practice issuing warnings for severe and winter weather scenarios

-        Presented a talk about dual-polarization radar


Participant in Terrain-induced Monsoon Rainfall Experiment (May - June 2008)

-        Rotated shifts at the S-Pol radar site in southern Taiwan

-        Took detailed logs of observed weather and radar scanning strategies
