TRMM-LBA Brazil S-pol site

The S-pol radar is tentatively sited at 11 deg 13.296 min S and 61 deg 59.804 min W at an elevation of about 280 m MSL. As shown below, the surrounding terrain is relatively flat with rolling hills of 50 m in height. The site is located in a grassy deforested area where most of the trees have been cleared within a distance of about 2-4 km. Site photographs are courtesy of Jim Wilson.
